About

John Chambers has been a stoneware potter for 45 years and is a specialist in salt-glazing. Veering away from a career as a university language professor, he did nevertheless end up teaching art for 30 years at Dominican College of San Rafael, near San Francisco, California.  Now he finds pleasure working from home, an old farmhouse and studio in Sonoma County.  He is assisted by his wife, Sanae Nakajima of Sendai, Japan.  Both are students of traditional Tea Ceremony and other aspects of Japanese culture.
